In recent years, Tarot has gained immense popularity as a tool for self-discovery and personal growth. In these troubled times, many people have opened up to the idea of exploring their own spirituality and looking for ways to connect with their intuition.

Tarot is one of the most popular tools used to seek guidance and support in all areas of your life, from relationships and career to health and wellbeing. In this article, we will explore whether or not anyone can read tarot.

Can anyone learn to read tarot?

The short answer is yes, anyone can read tarot! No matter your gender, your background, or your religion, the tarot is a tool that can be used by anyone open to learning about it. Some of my friends have asked me “Is tarot a closed practice?“, but I believe that tarot is an open practice that anyone can learn. Tarot is a tool that can be used by anyone, regardless of their level of experience or knowledge.

However, I would also caution against selling tarot readings if you are inexperienced. It is important to remember that the tarot should be used as a tool for guidance and support, not as a means to give someone a definitive answer to a question. Interpreting the cards the wrong way can lead to inaccurate readings and could potentially cause more harm than good. So if you are just starting out, it might be best to stick to reading tarot for yourself and your closed ones until you have built up some experience.

How to start learning tarot

If you are interested in learning the tarot, your first step is to get purchase a tarot deck. You can then familiarize yourself with the meanings of the different tarot cards and try to do some simple tarot spreads for yourself. There are many resources available to help you learn the ins and outs of the tarot: you can read websites, listen to podcasts, watch videos on YouTube, and even download tarot apps to your phone! There has never been an easier time to learn tarot than today. I found that journalling with my tarot artwork, doodling and sketching out what the symbolism meant to me helped me take in the meaning behind the cards easier.

It is true that some people have a natural affinity for reading tarot, while others need to study and practice a little harder to develop their interpreting skills. The most important advice I can offer is to approach your tarot journey with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
