How often can you do tarot readings?

Last Updated: March 25, 2022

Many people, especially new tarot learners, have come to me with the following question: “Can I read my tarot cards every day?”. The answer to this question is that you can do as many readings as you are comfortable with. As we will explore in this article, many factors can affect how often someone does tarot readings.

How frequently can you do tarot readings for yourself?

I like to keep a strong bond with my intuition, so I do readings for myself on a weekly basis. This also allows me some time to reflect on the previous readings and see what changes, if any, have taken place. Some people prefer to do readings every day, while others do readings only once a month.

I enjoy doing simple tarot spreads because they are quick and easy. As a mother of two, I do not always have the time nor the energy to read tarot for myself every day. I also choose to do my own tarot readings when big life changes are coming, such as a career change or a move to a new city.

When you first get started with learning tarot, it may be a good idea to do short and simple readings for yourself every day. This can help you get familiar with the meanings of the tarot cards and improve your interpretation of the messages they have for you.

How frequently can you do tarot readings for other people?

There is really no limit on the number of tarot readings you can do for others. It mainly depends on your energy levels, as well as the energy of the person you are reading for. Some types of readings can be emotionally draining, so it might be beneficial to space that out. Doing tarot readings whilst being overly tired can lead to inaccurate readings. I generally like to do one or two readings per day for clients, but this can vary depending on how long they last, or the type of readings (one card pull, 5 card pull, etc.).

Can you get a tarot reading burnout?

Yes, it is possible to experience burnout. This happens when you do too many readings in a short period and you start to feel drained both mentally and emotionally. If you start to feel this way, take a break from doing readings for others until you feel recharged. Remember that tarot is all about your intuition, and for it to work, you must be in tune with yourself. You should also consider giving your tarot decks a little break as asking the same type of question over and over may drain them too.

In conclusion, the number of tarot readings you can do ultimately depends solely on you. As long as you are comfortable with what you are doing, there is no harm in doing readings more often. The only thing I would advise is to make sure you take some time to recharge your batteries.
