Lizzie's Tarot Reading - Week 33: August 14 to August 20, 2023

Last Updated: August 14, 2023

Every week, I pull a card for the community and offer my thoughts on what the Tarot is predicting for us this week. Additionally, I recommend some cute things to do this week which are inspired by whichever card I pull!

This is my free tarot reading for the week number 33: August 14 to August 20, 2023

Card of the week: Reversed Temperance

I guess we didn’t check in last week with ourselves enough, as now we have Reversed Temperance showing up to share that moderation is key – and we’ve lost the damn keys too.

Bad habits, overindulgence, maybe even reckless behaviours like overspending, gambling and drinking too much. In love, there’s an element of feeling lost, and with work? We’re either caring too much or caring too little, none of this is beneficial for your health and well-being.

First off, I’d recommend drawing a new boundary temporarily around you so that you aren’t taking on other peoples “stuff”, because you’ve got enough going on you need to sift through.

Patience and grace are gonna be two gorgeous gifts to yourself whilst you work out the balance.

The reversed Temperance card is teaching us to take a step back, and move slowly and with consideration of what balance looks like for you. This is a major arcana card hun, so it’s not a little thing you need to take note of – it’s a brick in the small of your back, and it’ll be uncomfortable.

Now we might not be able to undo any of the things that have been done in haste or recklessness – but going forward, we can practice moderation so nothing spirals out of control again.

Take care of yourselves and the ones you love – moderation is key! If you’re craving something sweet, go for dark chocolate instead. You’re worth it, just make sure to take it slow. If it’s alcohol you’re craving, get outside into nature to refresh yourself and take a flavoured sparkling water with you.

You’ve got this, and you can absolutely bring things back in line babe 💜🙏🏼✌

Things to do and try this week which relates to the inverted Temperance

I would like to send you all lovely people off to start the week with some fun and quirky ideas on what you could achieve or do this week.

All of the below recommendations are inspired by this week’s tarot card: The Reversed Temperance.

    • Date idea: Go to a sober event near you – you can meet some truly inspirational folks at these.
    • Book to read: “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey
    • Movie to watch: “Requiem for a Dream” 2000 feat Ellen Burstyn and Jennifer Connolly
    • Playlist to try: “Green Bean Quarantine” by AU/RA on Spotify
    • Dish to try: Tuscan Bean Stew (add tons of garlic and oregano for extra deliciousness – it aids with healing and support)
    • Good action to do this week: Visit your local library, and see if there is a community event you can support just by showing up – not necessarily by taking on work for it. Borrow books to aid in providing calm energy back into your life.
    • Self-care action: Put people on restrict or DND on socials, and go for a big swim to move your body & manage your emotions.
    • Affirmation: “I know what I need, and I know what I deserve.”

    • Journaling prompt: “What have I given up, and why?”
    • Documentary: “Drinking to Oblivion with Louis Theroux” BBC 2016
