Last Updated: August 1, 2022
Personally, I think that cleansing your tarot cards is an important part of tarot reading. It’s also a chance to take a moment to connect with your cards and set your intention for reading. It’s a quick process, no longer than a few minutes that can make a big difference in your readings.
I have been asked many times by people if they really need to cleanse their decks, and my answer is yes. However, I know that not everyone feels the same way about it. So, if you’re on the fence, you may wonder what happens if you don’t cleanse your tarot cards.
So, what happens if you don't cleanse your tarot cards?
If you don’t cleanse your tarot cards regularly, the energy that they absorb from readings can become muddled and confusing. This can make it difficult to get clear insights from your readings, as the cards will be giving off mixed signals. There are certain types of tarot readings, mostly very personal ones, that can be very emotionally charged. That energy might be difficult to dissipate on its own, and it may linger in the deck until you cleanse it. This may result in you getting inaccurate readings, or feeling overwhelmed during your readings.
Cleansing your tarot cards is a way to clear away that old energy, and start fresh with each reading. If you are interested in learning more about the cleansing process, you may find my article explaining the different ways to cleanse your tarot cards useful.
