Earth and Bone Deck Review

"Earth And Bone" Oracle Deck Review

Last Updated: January 29, 2024

The “Earth and Bone” oracle deck by Sirian Shadow combines skeleton and skull imagery with bright flowers and nature elements that showcase the duality of life and death. Created to help connect with both shadow and your otherworldly guides, this deck aims to honor concepts of transformation and rebirth in our life.

Table of Contents

What's In The Box?

Guidebook: Over 100 pages including cleansing tips, card spreads and affirmations per card.

Artwork: By Jaelani at Rectopus Artwork, feat gothic illustrations of skulls, nature and keywords to guide the reading.

Total Cards: 42 cards

Inclusivity: This deck being mostly skeletal it didn’t lean towards gender too much, and different cards like Sorcerer made me think about other religions too, without explicitly saying so.

Environmental Impact: TBC; Printed & Bound in China. (No charitable mentions) HOWEVER the deck does come with a free digital app, to encourage further practice.

Unique Deck Points: The unique combination of traditionally dark and macabre elements with delicate flowers and nature themes definitely creates a striking visual contrast that reflects the theme of duality in life. This deck goes beyond mainstream oracle decks to explore themes of transformation and rebirth, making it a valuable tool for personal development and shadow work. It’s for those who aren’t afraid when the candle blows out.

Downside of the Deck

It may have been just the copy I had but all of the blue metallic gilding was peeling off as I started to use the deck, making it look instantly tatty. Not a bad thing for a deck featuring decay, but I don’t love loose glitter in my house.

My Favourite Card

Wayfarer. It’s not what you’d expect from a typical Hermit style card, but an encouragement to go forth and to search for deeper meanings on your journey; “Choose a path, and do not avoid what scares you.”

Why I Love This Deck

A lot of the cards encourage critical thinking or pushing past expectations, as well as they offer an opportunity to build on your own intuition through the questions that the cards are asking you (versus using the cards like a one card pull). I really like the focus on energy correcting vs cleansing or starting again too. The illustrations are stunning and offer a unique perspective on the traditional skull imagery we see so often. This deck is not just for divination, but also serves as a tool for self-reflection and personal growth.

I feel that those who would love this deck are those who appreciate darker themes and are open to exploring different aspects of life. It’s perfect for those on a spiritual journey who want to delve deeper into the shadows and find guidance through times of transformation and rebirth, and I do recommend you grab yourself a copy to see what I mean for yourself.

The “Oracle of Pluto” deck by Graveyard Roses’ own Aubrey Houdeshell and illustrated by Rose Ides offers a unique 55 card deck perspective – an ode to the deity of transformation, whilst engaging in the now meeting your shadow where it is.

Created by Spirit Element’s Lorraine Anderson and Spirit Bound Press’s Juliet Diaz, this 44-card deck is such a welcome dose of autumnal graciousness.

Mythos Tarot 1

The Mythos Tarot by Helena Elias is a deck I’d instantly say is more art and devotional work than it is a simple divination tool.

The purpose of this deck would be to use it as a tool for guidance with inner child work, and each card has either a spell or ritual to help with a healing journey. But I have a LOT to say about this…
