Herbs for Prosperity, Luck, Money, Wealth and Abundance - Witchcraft Basics

Last Updated: January 10, 2023

Witches have been using herbs, plants, and flowers for centuries to cast spells and create charms for money, luck, and prosperity. These natural elements are powerful tools that can help us tap into the energy of the Earth and the forces of nature to bring positive change into our lives.

The use of nature in this way allows modern witches to connect with the ancient traditions of their craft and to harness the power of nature to manifest their desires. Not only that it is also an environmentally friendly practice, but the use of these elements also brings a sense of warmth, growth and nourishment to the spell or charm, making it more potent and effective.

Herbs and flowers can be used in a variety of ways, such as creating herbal oils and potions, making sachets and talismans, or incorporating them into rituals and ceremonies. The beauty and vitality of these natural elements can also serve as a source of inspiration and motivation as we work towards our goals.

So, if you’re looking to bring abundance, prosperity or good luck into your life, try incorporating some of these incredible plants below into your spells and charms – you might be surprised at how powerful they can be!

Why use Herbs for Prosperity

As I talked about in the Herbs for Divination post, they can represent different areas of our lives, and money being such a pragmatic, tangible aspect couldn’t be better represented that the cool mint leaf or the fast-paced cinnamon bark. Money magick is about creating the right energy to attract abundance, and what better way to do it than with these natural elements?

Not only do herbs act as an amplifier of our intentions, but they also bring a sense of peace and joy into our lives. So, why not try using some of these incredibly powerful plants for your money spells?

How to use herbs for prosperity, wealth, fortune and good luck

As a general rule, always use common sense. Don’t do anything without research, and without medical advice.

  1. Potpourri: Mixing dried herbs and plants can create a scented potpourri to bring wealth energy to your life. Add coins and turn your potpourri dish into a Wealth Bowl.
  2. Oil infusions: Oils can be infused with herbs and plants to create anointing oils for spellwork or to use in rituals. A basil oil infusion not just for candles but for food too makes for a fantastic abundance recipe!
  3. Tea: Edible herbs and flowers can be steeped in hot water to create a tea, which can be used for spells or consumed for physical or spiritual benefits. Mint tea is especially beneficial for money!
  4. Creating a spell or witch bottle: Herbs and plants can be added to a bottle filled with other items, such as crystals or nails, to create a spell bottle.
  5. Creating a spell or charm bag : Most plants can be added to a bag with other items to create a charm bag safely.
  6. Using in herbal magic: Specific herbs can be used to perform specific magic in witchcraft, such as ginger root grown specifically to bring money or protection.

When burning herbs, ensure you are in a ventilated area. If you are making tea, be sure to steep for the recommended time (usually around 5 minutes). And if you are carrying herbs with you, make sure they are stored in a safe container. For those unable to use smoke, you can use as in an oil diffuser or create your own divination oils. If you are planning to ingest/eat/drink these herbs, make sure that they are actually safe to consume for that purpose and I always recommend working with professional support such as your doctor or your accredited herbalist (not just some random on tumblr).

There are many ways to use herbs for money magick. Some herbs can be burned as incense, while others can be used to make tea. You can also carry herbs with you, or place them under your bed at night. However you choose to use them, herbs can help you connect with your manifestation and intent.

Money Magick Herbs and their meanings

This is a list of herbs, plants, spices that all have great correspondences for luck, wealth, money and prosperity. You will find that most of these are like your everyday kitchen herb, and store-bought is fine if you can’t grow them yourselves. I love checking out my supermarket for reduced herbs that I can freeze or dry for later use, as it’s a great way to reduce waste going to the landfill. Ask your neighbours with a good garden if they can spare you some “for crafting or creating incense with” if you are in the broom closet, offer to harvest the dead leaves in a garden centre if you can keep them “for an art project”, or be open and share your intention.

If foraging for your herbs directly, never take the first or the only one you find, so that more can grow, and if you can leave something (even whisper a small moment of thanks, use moon water to give thanks, or tidy the area if it’s a public space) it may make all the difference to your practice. When it comes to herbs, manifestation and witchery, if we can leave the planet better than we found it – that’s always nice.

This list isn’t exhaustive, and always trust your intuition in spellwork:

Please note that when using herbs, it’s important to make sure you are using them safely, properly and ethically. It’s important to use herbs and plants that are safe for internal and external use, especially if you plan to consume them. Some plants may also have negative effects and can be harmful if used in wrong way.

Also, be aware of laws and regulations concerning the use of certain herbs and plants, particularly in regards to cultivating and harvesting them. Finally, when harvesting herbs and plants, it is important to do so sustainably and ethically – never taking more than what you need or damaging the environment in any way. This is especially true when collecting wild plants and herbs, but most of the herbs I’ve mentioned here can be easily found in supermarkets or ordered safely online for accessibility purposes.

With proper knowledge and research, you can use herbs and plants safely and effectively in your magickal practice. Until next time xox
