Speak Your Truth: 44 Affirmations Inspired by The Tarot

Last Updated: July 26, 2023

The idea of using affirmations as a self-improvement tool is greatly supportive one and has evolved from various spiritual, philosophical, and psychological practices. I previously wrote about the history of magick for practices of gratitude – “Abrakadabra” is one of the most well-known affirmations in the magickal community. This idiom is believed to have come from the 6CE Aramaic expression “Avra Kehdabra,” which means “I create as I speak.” This idiom has been employed in a variety of magical rituals throughout time, including in the writings of the Greek philosopher and magician Apollonius of Tyana from the second century, but it initially came from a healing spell in Serenus’ Liber Medicinalis. Affirmations can certainly help across all areas of our lives, just like tarot.

Today, you’ll have seen that affirmations are widely used to help individuals cultivate a more positive mindset and manifest desired outcomes in their lives. And so, this is what we want to show you here.

Affirmations based on Tarot cards meaning

Since the upright and reversed positions often represent different aspects or interpretations of a card’s meaning, I decided to create specific affirmations for each card position to help you better understand and integrate the guidance provided by the cards.

I often use those affirmations after my daily tarot card pull and note them in my tarot journal for future reference. If I feel like a month has particularly been eventful, I may check my notes to review the affirmations and insights gathered throughout the month. I might decide to tweak them if I did not find them particularly effective.

This helps me reflect on my personal growth, recognize patterns, and assess the progress I have made in addressing the challenges and opportunities that arose during that time. It’s important to customise these affirmations so they can resonate better with you, and it’s something I’d love for you to do in fact to increase their potency for you.

Everyone’s mind is different and words have different meanings to different people. By personalizing your affirmations, you can ensure that they are relevant, meaningful, and powerful to you.

That being said, here’s my list of tarot card-based affirmations. I will add more in the future for the 4 tarot suits. Be sure to check back!
